La Pointe d'Esny is located on the southeast coast of Mauritius. This huge turquoise lagoon, protected by a coral reef, offers an exceptional playground for kitesurfers. Far from the hustle and bustle of tourism, the spot seduces with its natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere.
The lagoon offers several kilometers of flat-water sailing, ideal for freeride, foiling or long, leisurely rides.

Accessible to all levels, La Pointe d'Esny allows beginners to progress in shallow areas, while the experienced can explore the lagoon in complete freedom, right up to the coral reef.
Take-off can be tricky at high tide, so some experience or assistance is recommended.
🌬️ Ideal wind conditions
The spot is mainly exposed to east and southeast winds, particularly regular between May and October.
The wind oscillates between 14 and 22 knots, perfect for all sailing styles.
🗓️ Best season
The best time to sail is southern winter, from May to October, when the trade winds blow steadily.
In summer (December to March), conditions are less constant but sometimes allow for magical sessions in 30°C water.
🛟 Safety
The lagoon is safe, but you should remain vigilant depending on the tide. At high tide, the water can become deep; at low tide, the corals are flush.
Neoprene booties recommended for protection from sea urchins and stonefish.
No first-aid station on site: avoid sailing alone.

Access by car via Mahébourg. The path leads to a discreet beach between private properties.
No official parking, but a few spaces available under the filaos. No infrastructure on site, so remember to take everything with you.
