La Prairie is a kitesurfing spot located approximately 4 km east of Le Morne, on the southwest coast of Mauritius. This site offers a shallow, vast, and flat lagoon, ideal for kitesurfers of all levels. The beach is spacious enough for kite launching and landing, providing a convenient environment for practitioners.

La Prairie is suitable for kitesurfers of all levels. Beginners will appreciate the shallow and calm waters of the lagoon for safe learning, while intermediate and advanced riders can enjoy the space to hone their skills.

The spot benefits from trade winds primarily blowing from the southeast. During the main season, from June to October, winds are consistent and reliable, providing optimal conditions for kitesurfing.

The ideal period for kitesurfing at La Prairie extends from June to October, corresponding to the austral winter. During these months, winds are most consistent, and water temperatures are pleasant.

The lagoon offers a safe environment thanks to its shallow and protected waters. However, it is recommended to wear neoprene booties to protect against corals and sea urchins present on the seabed.

La Prairie is accessible by car from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, with a journey of approximately one hour. Car rental services and taxis are available to facilitate travel to the spot.

The water temperature at La Prairie ranges between 23°C in winter (June to September) and 28°C in summer (December to March), providing pleasant conditions for kitesurfing all year round.
